10TH ANNUAL GREAT BASIN LANGUAGES CONFERENCE
Date and location undetermined at this time.
Remember, if you are interested in hosting this year's conference, please let us know.

FIRST PLANNING MEETING - GREAT BASIN LANGUAGES CONFERENCE
Saturday - March 6, 2010
1:00 pm
RSIC Language/Culture Program Office
401 Golden Lane (Blue Child Care Trailer)
As per the closing session of last year's GBLC, we are going to form a Planning Committee to assist with this year's GBLC. We will discuss conference theme, location, dates, potential keynote speakers, workshop presenters, etc. All interested persons are invited to attend to provide input to the process. Please RSVP if you plan to attend so we can ensure that we have enough meeting space. Our new phone number is (775) 329-8396. If you get the answering machine, please leave your name and number.

SEARCHING FOR DYNAMIC, KEYNOTE SPEAKERS
We are beginning a search for keynote speakers for the 10th Annual Great Basin Languages Conference. If you have any suggestions for a keynote speaker, please email their name, contact information, and reason why you think they would be a good keynote speaker.

WORKSHOP PRESENTERS ALSO BEING SOUGHT
We are beginning the search for workshop presenters. In year's past, tribal programs have been so helpful with the language conference. Our conferences could not have been so successful without your help. Please know that you are all greatly appreciated. As in year's past, we are financially unable to pay travel costs but we would be able to waive registration fees for workshop presenters (limit 3 presenters per group).

IN CLOSING
So as we prepare for this year's conference, let's keep in mind why the Great Basin Languages Conference was created - to share training and network opportunities for those of us working in the field of language revitalization. It is time for us to get excited about this conference and do whatever needs to be done to help. The Great Basin Languages Conference must live on!
